Yoga Therapy Consultation

Yoga Therapy Consultation with Beata

Complementary yoga therapy support for your healing process, recovery and self-practice

Sometimes you know that yoga could support you — but you are not sure where to begin.

Maybe you are recovering from illness. Maybe you live with a chronic condition. Maybe your energy is low and your body feels weak, tense or heavy. Maybe you have back pain, joint pain, stress, poor sleep or difficult symptoms.

A Yoga Therapy Consultation gives you individual guidance so you can understand your situation more clearly and begin a yoga-based self-practice that supports your body, breath, energy, nervous system and daily life.

This is complementary holistic support. It does not replace medical care.

It helps you explore how yoga therapy can work alongside the care you are already receiving — so you are not only a passive recipient of treatment, but an active participant in your own recovery and wellbeing.

What is a Yoga Therapy Consultation?

A Yoga Therapy Consultation is a private session where we look at your situation as a whole.

Your body and symptoms

  • what you are currently experiencing in your body
  • pain, tension, stiffness, fatigue or low energy
  • back, neck, shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, wrist or other joint discomfort
  • what helps, what aggravates and what feels unclear

Your breath, stress and rhythm

  • your breath, sleep, stress and nervous-system patterns
  • your daily rhythm, work habits and recovery capacity
  • what kind of yoga, movement or rest you have already tried
  • what kind of self-practice may support you now

Your care context

  • your medical or therapeutic support context, where relevant
  • your current condition, energy and limitations
  • your need for support, adaptation or caution
  • a realistic direction for practice and lifestyle adjustment

The purpose is to help you understand your body and healing process from a yoga therapy perspective — and to create a clear, safe and realistic direction for your practice and lifestyle adjustments.

This consultation may be suitable if you…

A Yoga Therapy Consultation may be helpful if you need careful, individual guidance before beginning or adapting yoga practice.

  • are recovering from illness and want gentle self-practice support
  • need to look holistically at nourishment, rest, daily rhythm and mind state
  • live with a chronic or long-term condition
  • want to support medical care with holistic self-healing practices
  • feel low in energy, vitality or motivation
  • want to support the body’s natural regenerative capacity
  • experience back, neck, shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, wrist or joint pain
  • feel stiff, weak, tense or uncomfortable in your body
  • are dealing with stress, anxiety, poor sleep or nervous-system overload
  • feel confused by conflicting advice about movement or rest
  • are unsure which yoga practices are safe for you
  • need help adapting yoga and lifestyle around your current condition
  • want a personalised practice and four health pillars plan
  • want to improve quality of life even if a condition is long-term

You do not need previous yoga experience. You do not need to be flexible. You simply need a willingness to observe honestly and begin carefully.

The focus: becoming an active participant in healing

In many health situations, people feel passive. They attend appointments, receive treatment, wait for results and hope something will change.

Yoga therapy does not replace care

Sometimes medical care is essential. Sometimes physiotherapy, psychotherapy, medication, surgery or specialist treatment is needed.

Yoga therapy does not replace these forms of care.

But it can help you ask a different question:

What can I do every day to support the conditions for healing, recovery and quality of life?

You may explore how to work with

  • movement, breath and relaxation
  • sleep, rest and recreation
  • food and how you eat
  • daily rhythm and stress reduction
  • mental attitude and energy management
  • safe self-practice and lifestyle awareness

The aim is not to control everything. The aim is to participate more consciously.

The four foundations of health and wellbeing

Yoga therapy is not only a physical practice. A consultation may include reflection on four foundations of health and wellbeing.

Nourishment

How you eat, digest, receive energy and support the nourishment of your body.

Rest

How you sleep, recover, relax, participate in recreation or hobby, and allow the nervous system to downshift.

Rhythm

How your daily routine, hygiene, movement including simple yoga, work, effort and pauses shape your energy.

Thought

How stress, fear, emotional patterns and inner attitude affect the body and healing process.

These foundations help turn yoga therapy into a practical self-healing path — not a rigid lifestyle system, but a way of seeing where small, realistic changes may support the whole person.

What kind of support can you receive?

The consultation is not about giving you a long list of exercises. It is about helping you find the right starting point.

Practice support

  • therapeutic yoga practice suggestions
  • posture and movement observation
  • simple alignment guidance
  • breath awareness
  • relaxation or restorative practice

Adaptation and safety

  • meditation preparation
  • Yoga Nidra or conscious rest guidance
  • suggestions for props and support
  • guidance on adapting poses
  • short daily practice recommendations

Lifestyle direction

  • lifestyle rhythm reflections and adjustments
  • nourishment, rest, daily rhythm and mind-state prompts
  • self-practice planning
  • direction towards RELIEF, CALM / FOCUS, SELF-HEALING or ASCEND
  • realistic next steps

Sometimes the starting point is movement. Sometimes it is breath. Sometimes it is rest. Sometimes it is a simple lifestyle adjustment. Sometimes it is learning what not to force.

What happens during the consultation?

Each consultation is individual, but the general flow may look like this.

1. Conversation

We begin by discussing what brings you to the session: your concerns, symptoms, practice history, lifestyle rhythm, diet, stress level, sleep, work habits, medical context and intention.

2. Observation

If appropriate, I may observe your posture, breathing, simple movement or the way you sit, stand or move — not to judge your body, but to understand patterns.

3. Practice guidance

You receive selected yoga therapy practices that fit your current needs, such as supported postures, gentle movement, breath awareness, relaxation or meditation preparation.

4. Adaptation

We adjust the practice so it feels realistic and safe. You learn how to reduce intensity, use support, work with the breath and recognise when to stop.

5. Lifestyle adjustments

We make gentle, realistic adjustments in nourishment, rest, rhythm and mind state to make the path easier for you.

6. Home practice direction

You leave with a clearer idea of what to adjust, what to practise, how often to practise and what to pay attention to.

The plan may be simple — because simple adjustments and practices done consistently are often more useful than complicated routines that never happen.

How many consultations will you need?

This depends on your situation. Some people need one consultation to clarify their starting point. Others benefit from a process of several sessions.

Beginning phase

Weekly sessions for the first few weeks, so the practice can be understood, corrected and adjusted.

Stabilising phase

Fortnightly sessions once you begin to practise more independently.

Integration phase

Monthly support when the practice is clearer and you need refinement, motivation or adjustment.

The rhythm is decided individually. The goal is not to create dependency. The goal is to help you understand your lifestyle and continue your own practice with more confidence.

Why online consultation can work well

Online yoga therapy consultation allows you to practise in your real environment. This is useful because your home is where your actual practice will happen.

You can use what you already have

  • a chair
  • a wall
  • a blanket
  • a cushion
  • a belt or scarf
  • a yoga mat
  • simple household props

You do not need a professional yoga room

You need a safe space, a stable internet connection and enough room to practise.

Online work also makes the process easier to continue because you do not need to travel.

Helpful when life is full

Online consultation can be especially helpful if your life is busy, your energy is limited, or you want support from outside Warsaw.

A responsible yoga therapy approach

Yoga therapy can be deeply supportive, but it should be practised with care.

A Yoga Therapy Consultation does not replace medical diagnosis, treatment, physiotherapy, psychotherapy or other professional care.

Please consult an appropriate healthcare professional if you have:

  • acute or severe pain
  • recent injury, surgery or trauma
  • numbness, tingling or weakness
  • unexplained symptoms
  • dizziness or fainting
  • serious physical or mental health conditions
  • pregnancy
  • any symptoms that feel unsafe, unusual or worrying

Yoga therapy can work alongside medical care. It should never encourage you to ignore symptoms, stop prescribed treatment or force your body through pain.

A mature healing path includes discernment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a Yoga Therapy Consultation medical treatment?

No. It is not medical diagnosis or treatment. It is yoga-based guidance designed to support your self-practice and healing process alongside appropriate professional care.

Can I book a consultation if I have back pain or joint pain?

Yes, if your situation is suitable for yoga-based support. If your pain is acute, severe, worsening or accompanied by neurological symptoms, please seek medical advice first.

Can this support recovery from illness?

It may support recovery by helping you work with gentle movement, breath, rest, energy, rhythm, self-practice and lifestyle adjustments. It does not replace medical treatment.

Can this help with stress or anxiety?

A consultation may help you explore supportive practices such as breath awareness, grounding, relaxation and meditation preparation. It does not replace psychotherapy, psychiatric care or crisis support.

Do I need yoga experience?

No. The consultation can be adapted for beginners.

Will I receive a practice plan?

The aim is to give you a clear practice direction. Depending on the format, this may include written notes, suggested practices or a simple home-practice plan.

Is one consultation enough?

Sometimes one consultation is enough to clarify your starting point. Some people benefit from ongoing sessions, especially at the beginning.

How often should I book sessions?

Often weekly at first, then fortnightly or monthly as the practice becomes clearer and more stable.

Can the consultation be in person?

The main format is online. In selected cases, an in-person consultation in Warsaw or near Warsaw may be possible by individual arrangement.

What if I am not sure whether this is right for me?

You can contact Beata first and briefly describe your situation.

Begin with clarity

You do not need to keep guessing.

You do not need to collect more random exercises.

You do not need to force yourself into a practice that does not fit your body or life.

A Yoga Therapy Consultation can help you pause, look more clearly, and begin from a place of support.

With the body you have now.
With the breath you have now.
With the life rhythm you are actually living.

From there, practice becomes personal.

And healing becomes more conscious.
